What a qualified electronic signature is
A qualified electronic signature (QES) is the highest signature level defined by the EU’s eIDAS regulation. A qualified trust service verifies the signer’s identity against a government-issued passport or ID card. The signature then has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature in the EU, making it suitable for legally binding contracts and other important documents. Sign from your phone, nothing to install on your PC
You can apply the signature through Evrotrust without installing certificate files or using a card reader on your PC. The process for digitally signing a document starts on the Protect tab. Select Digitally Sign, choose Use Signature Provider, enter the phone number connected to your Evrotrust account, and select Connect to Evrotrust. You then authorise the signature through the Evrotrust app on your phone.
Recognised by EU validators
Qualified signatures applied through Evrotrust follow the PAdES standard and are recognised by EU validation services. A recipient can check who signed the document, whether the signature is valid, and whether the PDF has changed since it was signed. MobiPDF also provides Validate Signatures on the Protect tab.

Qualified signing is available in MobiPDF for Windows with MobiPDF Pro and an active Evrotrust identity. Evrotrust accepts identity documents from 69 supported countries, including all EU member states, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
